10 Welterweight Prospects the UFC Should Sign in 2023

Cédric “Le Meilleur” Doumbé

30 | 5’10″ | Limoges, France | 3-0 | 3 Finishes | 3 KO/TKOs | Combined Opponents’ Record: 6-2 | Best Win – Florent Burillon (2-0)

Doumbe was signed to the UFC at one point last year ahead of UFC Paris, but the contract was pulled. He wasn’t allowed to fight in France due to his MMA inexperience, according to the local athletic commission. In combat sports in general however he has a ton of experience, mostly in kickboxing. He’s a two-time Glory welterweight champion, WAKO Pro World K-1 middleweight champ, a WGP champion, and has multiple tournament victories. He has a win over UFC fighter Brad Riddell as well.

Doube has been stellar in MMA. His stand up of course is performed at a high level. It’s nice to see him show good takedown defense. He’s patient, picks his shots, mixes up his attacks with his kicks and hands, and his defense has been on point. The only thing he lacks is a key, statement victory.
