10 Heavyweight Prospects the UFC Should Sign in 2022

Aleksandr Maslov

28 | 6’2” | Muravlenko, Russia | 9-1 | 7 Finishes | 7 KO/TKOs | Combined Opponents’ Record: 82-34 | Best Win – Luis Henrique (13-6)

Maslov was on my list last year, and the year prior, though he didn’t start off 2020 all too well, losing by decision. Still, Maslov was able to bounce back and get three conservative wins. It was also really good to see him getting four fights in 2020. Over the years, he’s beat journeyman Yuriy Protzenko, Wallyson Carvalho who was a good prospect at the time, and former UFC fighter Cody East. In his two victories from 2020 he beat opponents who had a 11-1 record combined. He went on to stay active in 2021, winning all three of his appearances.

Maslov is a dangerous athletic striker who has a lot of pop behind his punches. He’s also very fast with his output and overall has good hands with a key uppercut he loves to throw. His takedown defense is a concern but age is on his side and he’s been fighting good solid fighters. Maslov hasn’t fought anyone with a losing record to date.
