Scouting Prospects for the Contender Series Season 5: Part 2

Joshua Silveira

Light heavyweight | 28 | Miami, Florida, US | 4-0 | Win streak: 8 | 1 KO/TKO, 3 Submissions

Living in Coconut Creek, Florida Silveira trains out of American Top Team under head coach (and his father) Conan Silveira. He’s only 4-0 but went 4-0 as an amateur so he does have experience. Not high-level experience but he is in the gym every day with some of the best at ATT. Silveira wrestled in College for Arizona State University and was a Florida high school state champ. He’s looked stellar in his career thus far so a spot on the Contender Series would be warranted.

Fernie Garcia

Bantamweight | 28 | Dallas, Texas, US | 9-1 | Win streak: 4 | 3 Submissions

Garcia is a product out of Fortis MMA who has looked very good lately racking off four straight victories. When Garcia made his LFA debut back in early 2019 he lost a close split decision. The LFA invited Garcia back and since he’s gone 4-0. It seems like every year the Contender Series has a breakout star out of Fortis MMA and Garcia seems to be the next in line.
