10 Flyweight Prospects the UFC Should Sign in 2022

Azat “Kazakh” Maksum

26 | 5’8″ | Kaskelen, Kazakhstan | 14-0 | 11 Finishes | 5 KO/TKOs, 6 Submission (RNC) | Combined Opponents’ Record: 44-12 | Best Win – Flavio de Queiroz (12-3)

Kazakhstan actually has a ton of flyweight prospects and Maksum stands out among the group. He has a lot of experience including signing with Brave CF last year. He went 2-0 for the promotion. Before that, he was a regional champion in a Kazakhstan-based organization. Last year he won four fights so he has a lot of momentum coming into 2022.

Maksum is a talented pin-point striker with an underrated ground game. Patient on the feet Maksum uses a lot of feints waiting for his opening. He does a lot of stabbing on the outside with the jab picking guys apart. It’s all to set up a power punch or a takedown. He would make a good fresh face for the UFC’s flyweight division.
