While rumors have swirled in recent days that Natalia Silva and Wang Cong would fight for an interim title at UFC 332 next month, it turns out that undisputed gold will be on the line.
During Saturday’s UFC Paris broadcast, promotion officials announced the entire card, set for October 3, 2026 at the Delta Center in Oklahoma City, OK. That announcement came with the news that Valentina Shevchenko is injured and out for a year. It’s unclear whether Shevchenko vacated her title or was stripped due to the layoff, but either way, “Bullet” is now beltless.
Silva vs. Cong serves as the UFC 332 main event, with Deiveson Figueiredo vs. Payton Talbott announced as co-headliner. The newly signed Roberto Soldic will also make his debut at the event, with the former KSW champ and ONE Championship athlete fighting Khaos Williams on the main card.
Silva (20-5-1) is undefeated in the UFC and is coming off a win over former strawweight champ Rose Namajunas, who has spent the past couple of years competing at flyweight. Prior to that, the Brazilian had notched a victory over ex-flyweight champ Alexa Grasso. With eight wins inside the octagon, Silva has defeated three former UFC champs, and debuted with a decision over current ranked flyweight Jasmine Jasudavicius in 2022.
China’s Wang Cong (10-1) has won four straight fights, all by decision. She holds a victory over Shevchenko from their kickboxing days, dating back to 2015. Cong is ranked #8 in the weight class by members of the media in the UFC’s official rankings, and #6 by Meta AI. In both cases, Silva is ranked #1 overall.
