Scouting Prospects for the Contender Series Season 5: Part 3

Abdul-Kareem Al-Selwady

Lightweight | 25 | Dallas, Texas (born in U.S., lived in Jordan 7 years) | 11-3 | Win streak: 1 | 7 KO/TKOs, 2 Submissions

It wouldn’t hurt for Al-Selwady to get more time first considering he is only 1-2 in his last three fights. If you look at what he did before that however, it’s hard to deny him. Al-Selwady three fights into his career won the Desert FC vacant featherweight title. He later moved on to compete for Brave CF and won their lightweight title as well.

Valentine Woodburn

Middleweight | 27 | Apopka, Florida, US but born in Jamaica | 4-0 | Win streak: 7 | 4 KO/TKOs

For pure entertainment value Woodburn would be really fun on Dana White’s Contender Series. Woodburn is 5’8″ of pure strength and power. Woodburn trains out of a solid camp in Fusion Xcel Performance out of Ocoee, Florida. In his most recent fight he knocked out Miles Amos to win the Combat Night Pro middleweight title. Woodburn isn’t UFC ready but I believe he’s Contender Series ready.
