Scouting Prospects for the Contender Series Season 5: Part 3

Tony Laramie

Flyweight | 22 | Windsor, Ontario, Canada | 5-2 | Win streak: 3 | 3 KO/TKOs

From the start Laramie didn’t cut any corners. His pro debut was against Keith Lee, the brother of UFC’s Kevin Lee. Keith today is signed with Bellator and has made a name for himself, and Laramie cruised to a decision victory against him. He did suffer two consecutive losses but those were against two good fighters. Laramie is now on a three-fight win streak. Even though he hasn’t fought great competition lately he’s fighting opponents with a lot of experience. Tony is also the younger brother of UFC fighter TJ Laramie. Laramie is a super impressive young athlete that’s still a student of the sport.

Yasmine Jauregui

Strawweight | 22 | Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico | 5-0 | Win streak: 5 | 4 KO/TKOs

Still very green, Yasmine Jauregui has really impressed in her career thus far. Her style is reminiscent of UFC fighter Maycee Barber in a few ways. Jauregui, a Mexican-born fighter, has competed for Combate Americas three times. Still residing in Mexico, in her last fight she won the UWC strawweight title. Jauregui is still very young at only 22 so to think she’s even near her prime is silly. With tougher competition needed a fight on the Contender Series can give her that much-needed test.
