Scouting Prospects for the Contender Series Season 5: Part 3

Lisa Verzosa

Bantamweight | 25 | Vancouver, Washington, US | 6-1 | Win streak: 1

Low key, Verzosa is one of the best bantamweight prospects out there. Her only loss is to TUF veteran, Invicta champion, and current UFC fighter Julija Stoliarenko. In that fight, both ladies fought in an all-out war resulting in a close split decision. As a pro and amateur, Verzosa is 15-2. She has wins over Katharina Lehner, Kerri Kenneson, and current UFC fighter Shanna Young. She’s been a staple of Invicta FC since 2018 and has lots of memorable fights. She’s only 25 too, so the Contender Series would be a great fit for Verzosa.

AJ Dobson

Middleweight | 29 | Powell, Ohio, US | 5-0 | Win streak: 5 | 3 KO/TKOs, 1 Submission

Dobson is a solid prospect that hasn’t fought too high a level of competition yet. He made a statement in his lat outing knocking out former major prospect and Dana White’s Contender Series veteran Kailan Hill however. He stopped Hill in under a minute, outdoing the fighter who was supposed to be the legit finisher. Dobson has the fighting style that attracts a Contender Series call. He’s already 29 but only 5-0 so he’s only going to get better.
