Scouting Prospects for Dana White’s Contender Series Season 7

David “The Black Spartan” Martinez

Bantamweight | 29 | Coyoacán, Federal District, Mexico | 9-1 | 8 KO/TKOs | Combined Opponents’ Record: 41-20

In 2001 Martinez competed in Combate Global’s one-night eight-man bantamweight tournament. In the tournament were former UFC fighters Francisco Rivera Jr and Nohelin Hernandez. Martinez won three fights that night including knocking out Rivera in the final. After that, he took a year off and came back last year winning two fights. Last October he won the Combate Global title.

Dylan Salvador

Lightweight | 29 | Lyon, France | 5-1 | 1 KO/TKO, 4 Submission’s | Combined Opponents’ Record: 30-17

Salvador competed in Muay Thai and kickboxing for years before he transitioned over to MMA. He’s 5-1 in MMA and 64-16-2 in kickboxing/muay thai. Salvador is a former two-weight WAKO World champion and fought five times for Glory. He won the Glory lightweight contender tournament in 2016. Salvador has a kickboxing win over UFC contender Giga Chikadze. I’d say he’s likely a strong possibility to be on the Contender Series in season 7 and rightfully so.
