Scouting Prospects for Dana White’s Contender Series Season 7

Felipe “Lipe Detona” Dos Santos

Flyweight | 22 | Sao Paulo, Brazil | 7-0, 1 NC | 2 KO/TKOs, 3 Submission’s | Combined Opponent’s Record: 19-6

Felipe dos Santos comes from the Chute Boxe Diego Lima gym with a ton of excellent fighters. He’s been training with the best fighters out of Brazil and is a prodigy of former UFC lightweight champ Charles Oliveira. Santos brings that Brazilian savagery when he steps into the cage and that screams Contender Series. I’d put Detona into the violent category, and he’s not just exciting but has a lot of upside. Especially at flyweight, I really like the career trajectory of Detona. The kid is only 22 too so the future looks bright for him.

Kevin “El Nino” Vallejos

Lightweight | 21 | Mar del Plata, Argentina | 10-0 | 7 KO/TKOs, 1 Submission | Combined Opponent’s Record: 48-46

Vallejos had a huge 2022 fighting six times. On top of fighting six times in one year, he won the Samurai Fight House title. Esteban Ribovics and Alilin Perez were both Samurai Fight House champions and signed with the UFC last year. They both went straight to the UFC but lost their debut. This time Vallejos should go through the Contender Series to get that legitimate test before going to the big leagues. He is scheduled to fight former UFC fighter Eduardo Garagorri in May so that would be a good fight before a DWCS opportunity.
