10 Lightweight Prospects the UFC Should Sign in 2023

Cristian “Puas” Perez

23 | 6’0″ | Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico | 11-1 | 8 finishes | 2 KO/TKOs, 6 Submissions | Combined Opponents’ Record: 63-32-2 | Best Win – Patrick Lehane (4-0)

Perez is another athlete for Combate that’s a top lightweight prospect. 2021 was a huge year for Perez. He started off 5-0 but ended the year losing in the finals of the tournament Combate held. In 2022 Perez got back on track going 3-0.

The young 23-year-old Mexican always brings it and brings a well-rounded skillset. Yet while he is well-rounded, most of his finishes come by way of submission. Although his wrestling/takedowns have looked good Perez has sat guys down with head kicks and his hands. With his relentless pressure and his aggressiveness once the fight hits the mat he’s a true finisher. Perez gets after it as his frantic pace is an issue for anyone he steps across the cage from.
