10 Middleweight Prospects the UFC Should Sign in 2023

Will “Drago” Currie

24 | 6’3″ | London, England | 9-2 | 7 Finishes | 3 KO/TKOs, 5 Submissions | Combined Opponents’ Record: 27-27 | Best Win – Michael Tchamou (3-1)

Arguably the middleweight division is the weakest in terms of ready talent on the regional scene. I don’t think Currie is UFC-level currently but with a few more fight than at the end of the year he should be ready. He’s only lost to the current Cage Warriors champ Christian Leroy Duncan twice who is a top prospect. Currie has been grinding over at Cage Warriors and has won his last four.

Currie is s primarily a grappler with a submission base. On the feet, he does have a diverse kickboxing style he’s very dangerous with. As a pro, he’s finished with a rear-naked choke, arm-bar, americana, keylock, triangle, and an arm-triangle. Wrestling-wise he has good timing on his entries and has a strong body lock. Currie has been very impressive on the mat with that submission base, aggression, and smooth transitions. Not the most put-together yet but he’s young enough to rapidly grow.
