10 Heavyweight Prospects the UFC Should Sign in 2023

Junior Tafa

26 | 6’3” | Queensland, Australia | 4-0 | 3 Finishes | 3 KO/TKOs | Combined Opponents’ Record: 22-22-2 | Best Win – Kelvin Fitial (15-12-2)

Tafa is the least experienced fighter here but has more combat experience than most. Tafa is a 1-0 pro boxer but it was kickboxing he made a name for himself. He’s got a 23-5 kickboxing record and fought for Glory a handful of times. Tafa’s name may sound familiar and that’s because his brother Justin is in the UFC. Tafa has been actively fighting three times in the last five months. He was going to fight on the Contender Series when he was 0-0 so UFC is definitely on the horizon. He closed out 2022 with a win on the RIZIN 40 card.

In his four MMA fights Tafa has had to dig deep but finished all four opponents. His ground game is a work in progress. He gets tired as the fight goes but his skillset has proved to be superior to the guys he’s fought. Tafa has beaten experienced guys but still needs a win over a credible opponent.
