10 Lightweight Prospects the UFC Should Sign in 2022

Milson “Barao” Castro

 31 | 5’7″ | Coari, Amazonas, Brazil | 14-3 | 7 Finishes | 3 KO/TKOs, 4 Submissions’ (Armbar, Guillotine, Triangle, Heel Hook) | Combined Opponents’ Record: 63-23-2 | Best Win – Pavel Gordeev (14-1)

Castro first jumped out to me when he beat a top Russian prospect in Pavel Gordeev, who had a whole lot of momentum prior to that fight. He’s on a big 13-fight win streak and not only is he successful in Brazil he’s highly regarded in Mexico fighting there multiple times. Having fought for years Castro has won three different regional titles.

Castro is a stand-up fighter with a solid Muay Thai base. He is a scrapper that will stand toe-to-toe with anyone he stands across from. He does take a lot of shots on the chin but as shown in his fight with Gordeev he can take one to give one. He is someone that, with perhaps another win or two, we could see in the UFC. Which is long overdue.
