Song Yadong headlines at home as the Chinese bantamweight takes on Umar Nurmagomedov in the main event of this Saturday’s UFC Shanghai.
Yadong and Nurmagomedov find themselves on the short list of title contenders at 135lbs. While Nurmagomedov came up short in a previous shot at gold, against Merab Dvalishvili last year, he’s won two fights since, and with a 20-1 record and his famous last name, can never be considered far from the top. As for Yadong, he’s yet to see his first shot at gold, but with Petr Yan vs. Merab Dvalishvili 3 fast approaching, he would not doubt love to stake his claim.
