Team Alpha Male’s Josh Emmett threw his name in the hat to face Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 272. And while it’s a bit of a longshot, Emmett has a valid claim.

There’s two factors to consider here: one, this could turn out to be a very fun fight. Alexander Volkanovski hits hard. Josh Emmett hits hard. Chances are, someone goes down swinging, and what’s not to love about that?

More importantly, Emmett is on the best run of his UFC career. He’s won four straight, most recently picking up a unanimous decision against Dan Ige. The same fighter The Korean Zombie picked up his most recent win over. Before that, Emmett earned another unanimous decision against Shane Burgos.

In his four fight win streak overall, Emmett has two finishes, and two post-fight bonuses. Not too shabby.
