Impa “Tshilobo” Kasanganay (8-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC)

Welterweight (170lbs.): 0-0 (MMA), Making Pro Debut at UFC on ABC 2

Middleweight (185lbs.): 8-1 (MMA)

Impa Kasanganay is looking to make a change after suffering the first defeat of his professional career, in one of the most viral KO’s in UFC history.

Impa has not fought below 185lbs. in his entire career, including amateur MMA (where he actually competed at as high as 205lbs). Kasanganay stands at 5’11” and has a 73″ reach but also has some of the thickest legs in the UFC’s middleweight division and an extremely muscular build. Obviously, with Impa’s physical attributes (height and reach) on paper, he doesn’t exactly match up well against most middleweights in the UFC.

It should be very interesting to see Impa at 170lbs. and at just 27 years old, cutting the excess amount of weight might still not be a huge issue. Impa will be a fighter to watch on the scale and especially once he takes the octagon in a brand new weight class (for him) at UFC on ABC 2.
