It won’t be on Netflix, but Mike Perry will return to MMA for his next fight, and it’s against none other than Dillon Danis.
Yes, you read that right.
Duel: Arena on August 29 at the Kia Center in Orlando, FL will be headlined by Perry vs. Danis, two of the larger draws outside the UFC and other major promotions. The event is being hosted by DuelBet, per a report by MMA Fighting, with promoter Dean Toole confirming that the event will be a “hybrid card featuring MMA, boxing and kickboxing.”
The fight was announced on Friday.
Perry (15-8 MMA) was last seen beating a lethargic-looking Nate Diaz at MVP MMA 1 on Netflix in May. The former UFC star has found massive success outside the world’s largest MMA promotion, with a successful run in BKFC where he went 6-0, the win over Diaz, a victory in the short-lived Triad Combat, and even a boxing match with Jake Paul (which Perry lost, but was no doubt well-paid for).
Danis has been a little more inconsistent since his run in Bellator MMA evaporated, but the BJJ star and training partner of Conor McGregor boxed Logan Paul (and is currently embroiled in a lawsuit with the WWE star and his fiance), and won the Misfits MMA light heavyweight championship last year.
Known more for antics outside the cage, Danis is 3-0 in MMA dating back to 2018.
No other fights have been announced for the Duel: Arena card.
