Mike “Platinum” Perry (14-7 MMA, 7-7 UFC)

Welterweight (170lbs.): 7-7 (UFC), Missed weight 1x

Mike Perry is one of the fan-favorites in the UFC thanks to his antics and his swangin n’ bangin fight style.

But ahead of Perry’s most recent fight against Tim Means, he missed weight, coming in at 175lbs for the bout. Perry, who has had multiple distractions going on outside of the cage, was very vocal going into his last fight about being very heavy coming into fight week.

Perry is now 29 years old and even though he stands at 5’10” and only has a 71″ reach he has a very muscular frame and carries a lot of weight. Mike is a big welterweight, but because of his physical attributes (reach and height), he would not match up well against fighters in the UFC’s middleweight division. Perry, especially recently, has used his full allotted grace pound for weigh-ins, indicating that his weight cuts are probably always pretty tough.

Regardless of whether or not Perry’s weight-cutting woes last year could be blamed on what’s going on in his personal life, it will be interesting for fans to see if he is able to make weight this time around.
