DWCS winner Ahmad Hassanzada is out of his debut at UFC Kansas City next weekend following his arrest on charges of sexual assault on a minor on Friday.
First reported by AG Fight.
Hassanzada, 28, was arrested and booked into the Sacramento County Jail and is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday. He faces two felonies including “Lewd or lascivious act with a child under 14” and “Lewd act on child victim 14 or 15/Def 10 years older than victim”. He is being held on $400,000 bail.
Hassanzada (12-3) was set to make his UFC debut against Evan Elder in Kansas City. He earned a UFC contract on week 6 of DWCS in 2024 with a submission win over Dylan Mantello.
Elder is now set to face Gague Young in Kansas City per the UFC.
The arrest takes Hassanzada out of his UFC debut, and out of the organization according to a statement released to MMAMania.
“Ahmad Hassanzada was removed from his bout and is no longer signed to the organization,” a UFC official said.
UFC CEO Dana White has not released a statement on the arrest as of this post.
