UFC middleweight Abus Magomedov sees his fight with Michel Pereira at UFC Kansas City this Saturday night as the next step towards a ranking, and a big fight.
“I hope after the win this Saturday I’m going to go to top 15,” Magomedov told reporters on Wednesday.
“Then step by step.”
Magomedov (27-6-1) comes into the fight off two straight wins over Bruno Ferreira and Warlley Alves, respectively. He’ll face a rather wild fighter in Pereira in Saturday.
“You cannot be prepared for this sh*t, you know? This kind of sh*ts,” Pereira said.
“We know how he works, how he’s working, and we are ready. It was a little bit difficult to find someone who fights similar like him. I think it’s only one fighter who do the crazy stuff in the cage. I don’t worry about this.”
Pereira’s style may be challenging, but it’s not unexpected in Magomedov’s eyes. When you reach this level in professional MMA you have to be ready for anything and everything.
“I think in the UFC everyone (is a) tough opponent. You have to be ready 100% for everyone. Everyone (has) his strong sides,” he said.
“Every preparation is different. This makes us so strong. We are ready for any situation.”
