Valentin is better than his grades show. He has a ton of holes but due to his ability to stay in fights, he’s capable of turning a contest around at any point.

If Valentin can get a takedown he’s a dangerous guy. His ground and pound is slicing and he’s always going to be doing a lot of damage. Valentin is a very good grappler at finding the neck. Barring weaker top control, he’s a force while on top. The problem with Valentin is that he has little defense. In striking he lacks head movement, footwork, and stands squared. His takedown defense is awful and he almost always gets mounted when taken down.

Valentin is good at surviving off his back being mobile moving around scrambling actively. A good wrestler/grappler should be able to dominate him as Akhmed Salamov did. Valentin is always going to be dangerous but I don’t expect him to go far on The Ultimate Fighter 32.
