The upcoming Road House remake (the 1989 original starring Patrick Swayze is considered something of a classic) now has a full trailer, and it features plenty of UFC megastar Conor McGregor.

The 2024 retelling sees Jake Gyllenhaal in the lead role, playing a former UFC fighter turned bouncer, Elwood Dalton, working a road house in the Florida keys. And while a poster for the film made the rounds barely over a day ago, it’s Thursday morning’s trailer that has fans talking. Mainly because it offers an extended look at Conor McGregor as one of the film’s antagonists, Knox.

McGregor basically chews the scenery, spitting out one-liners while amping up his already oversized personality. “Hey fellas, looks like you’re having a smashing night!” he growls while taking apart the road house with a baseball bat in one scene. Then, before cracking Dalton with a headbutt, “I’ve got a tip for you — don’t let no one get this close!”

Pretty sure that would be at least a point deduction if Marc Goddard was involved.

The final scene featuring McGregor sees him addressing his boss (Knox being the hired muscle in the film, apparently). “Once Knox is on the job it’s over, baby.”

Road House (2024) will skip theaters and head straight to Amazon Prime Video.

Check out the full trailer below. The film was directed by Doug Liman, and penned by Anthony Bagarozzi, R. Lance Hill, and Chuck Mondry. Road House is set for release on March 21, 2024.
