Conor McGregor isn’t done, and he’s calling his shot.
The Irish superstar posted on his Instagram account a video of himself throwing kicks moments before walking out to the octagon for his main event bout with Max Holloway at UFC 329.
Seconds into the bout McGregor injured his knee, suffering a reported ACL injury, and ending his return after 5-years out of action in just 69 seconds.

“What was to be a generational beating is now to be reset.
IFW 2027 The Last Dance,” McGregor wrote on IG.
The post comes a day after UFC CEO Dana White told reporters at his recent Zuffa Boxing event that he McGregor would indeed be out for a lengthy amount of time. Responding to questions about the former two-division champion’s return, White was blunt.
“I have no idea. We had him on FaceTime tonight ringside,” White said.
“But, you know, Conor McGregor’s out for a year.”
It’s a tough setback for the former champion who missed out on the last 5-years of his career after suffering a brutal leg injury against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in 2021. Injuries along with controversy outside of the cage held the star on the sidelines until 2026.
Now with an injury holding him out for what White and many others assume is at least a year it truly is to be seen if we’ll ever see McGregor in the octagon again.
