Top 25 Pro MMA Prospects with Five Fights or Less

Talisson Teixeira
Pro record: 3-0
Amateur record: 0-0
Weight class: Heavyweight
Age: 23
Fighting out of Sao Jose do Rio Preto, Sao Paulo, Brazil

Not many people know of Teixeira but those unaware need to start paying attention. This 22-year-old is towering at six-foot-eight. He’s already a BJJ black belt and is fighting under and is training under a high-level boxing coach. It’s very nice to see a guy the size of Teixeira know how to use his reach. He throws long jabs and chopping leg kicks while being able to snipe his opponent at any time. There is hardly any footage of his jiu-jitsu but with his size and black belt abilities, I imagine it’s good.

Giovanna Canuto
Pro record: 4-0
Amateur record: 0-0
Weight class: Strawweight
Age: 20
Fighting out of Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil

Canuto is young and still new to MMA but is a five-time world IBJJf champion and a six-time IBJJF champion. She’s from Brazil but lives in Vegas and trains out of 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu Las Vegas. Her striking is questionable but I’ve been so impressed with her jiu-jitsu. Everything from her transition to her submission attack is high-level. She moves so quickly on top but she still knows exactly what move she is going to make next. Canuto has solid wrestling too so it all translates very well. Still green but Canuto has an extremely high ceiling.
