If nothing else, Jake Gyllenhaal looks absolutely shredded for his starring role in the upcoming Road House remake.

Gyllenhaal takes the lead in the remake of the Patrick Swayze classic, which also features UFC megastar Conor McGregor. The updated version of the movie sees Gyllenhaal play a former UFC fighter who ends up working as a bouncer at a roadhouse in Florida.

Even in the fictional realm, UFC fighters are struggling with their pay scale it seems.

Both Gyllenhaal and McGregor were on hand at the UFC 285 weigh-ins to film a scene for the movie, with shooting getting underway just prior to the start of the ceremonial weigh-in for the PPV card.

In the scene shot Friday, Gyllenhaal gets into an altercation with former UFC fighter Jay Hierson. Since his retirement in 2014, Hieron has been getting steady work as a stuntman in Hollywood, working on productions including John Wick 3: Parabellum, HBO’s Westworld, The Suicide Squad, Black Adam and others.

A fired up Gyllenhaal is also seen taking the mic for a short post-weigh-in interview, where he proclaims that the promotion should just give him the belt.

No word on what weight class Gyllenhaal is competing at in the film. As needless as most remakes are, this one should at least be fun for UFC fans with the likes of McGregor, Hieron, and even UFC President Dana White apparently getting on camera.

The backdrop for the scene reads UFC 222: Harris vs. Dalton. Gyllenhaal’s role in the film is Elwood Dalton (notably, the Swayze character in the 1989 original was James Dalton). The actual UFC 222 took place on March 3, 2018 — exactly five years prior to the day the scene was filmed, coincidentally, though weigh-ins for that card would have been March 2. The event was headlined by Cris Cyborg and Yana Kunitskaya in a women’s featherweight title fight.
