From Kickboxing to MMA: Which Fighters Could Make the Jump Next?

Murthel Groenhart lost his Glory titles last year and since then moved to MMA and went 2-0. Groenhart is a two-time Glory welterweight contender tournament winner and a former Glory welterweight champion. With that he’s also won two K-1 tournaments. A 69-24-3 record and has been fighting at a high level for the last decade.

My thoughts on him in MMA: Like Simon Marcus, Groenhart is 35-years-old. With that said his age hasn’t shown in the slightest. Groenhart is very quick, athletic, and really explosive. His explosiveness showed in his last fight getting a flying knee finish. I’ve also seen excellent head movement and footwork from “The Predator” as well. Maybe it’s too late to make a run but he has the capability.

Anatoliy Moiseev from Krymsk, Russia isn’t the most known kickboxer but is one of the best right now that’s come to MMA. He’s a former WLF world champion and as an amateur he won the 2011 WAKO World Championship. He also went 3-3 for Glory kickboxing. His overall record is 21-7.

My thoughts on him in MMA: Although he doesn’t have the best resume in kickboxing like some others he’s proved to be really good at MMA. Moiseev is 4-0 with all four wins coming in the first round. His powerful leg kicks are a huge weapon he’s used effectively, chopping the limbs down just taking guys out. His flow of striking and kickboxing blend perfectly together and the speed is a difference-maker. Moiseev has put on savage performances and I think will go places in MMA.
