Resende is a massive heavyweight towering at 6’9″. His last two fights combined a total of 1:06. That doesn’t determine how good he is but instead determines he’s quick to the trigger and can close a fight with no problem.

Resende favorably reminds me of fellow countryman Renan Ferreira. Both are huge fighters that hit hard and have a better ground game. Resende has the tall man defense with his chin high, hands low, and reaching with his punches. He’s a big man but he’s not too hard to move backward. Not too easy to control though and while in the clinch his thai plum knees are on full display.

The moments he’s had his grappling on the frontline it’s looked solid. Using his length with his legs and arms he does very well. Resende hasn’t fought good competition but training at American Top Team it’s a step forward nonetheless. He’s now on my radar but my expectations aren’t too high.
