The Russian Front
Every hardcore fan knows when scouting prospects a ton of Russians catch the eye. No matter if it’s Moscow, Dagestan, or other places in Russia there are quite a few that are on the rise. Aren Akopyan (12-2-1), Islam Konchiev (6-2), Murad Magomedov (11-0), Akhmed Khamzaev (7-0), and Badmatsyren Dorzhiev (6-0) stand out among the Russians outside of Kerefov who was mentioned earlier.
Aren Akopyan is an ACA fighter that has done great since arriving in 2019 and is 3-0. He has good skills striking but is a solid wrestler. He’s in his prime right now at 28.
Islam Konchiev is a member of Akhmat Fight Club training with a bunch of killers. Right now he’s riding the biggest win streak of his career at four. A bit vulnerable on the feet he’s a solid wrestler and has slick jiu-jitsu.
Murad Magomedov is the front runner to challenge Azamat Kerefov for his ACA title. A tall flyweight standing at 5’9″ he uses his length well. Magomedov is a work in progress but is still a really slick grappler.
Akhmed Khamzaev is still a developing prospect still fighting for ACA’s Young Eagles brand. He’s 4-0 for ACA Young Eagles with three stoppage victories.
Damn. Akhmed Khamzaev KO's Ariet Kubanychbek with a blitzing flurry of shots in R1. His head had nowhere to go. #ACAYE pic.twitter.com/TNye52IpgK

Badmatsyren Dorzhiev didn’t have much promise coming into his MMA career after an 0-2 amateur stint. Yet he’s undefeated as a pro and is the former Belarusian Fight Championship (BFC) champion. Dorzhiev is a solid wrestler and his ground and pound are really good along with heavy top control. He has it all and even though he’s just 6-0 he’s looked perfect.
