UFC: Holly Holm

Outside of Nunes, the UFC’s options for Harrison are somewhat low due to the lack of real contenders at featherweight. One of the options is a former champion in Holly Holm, whose grappling ability and strength might be an interesting test for Harrison, especially in a potential five-round fight.

Fans often forget that the former bantamweight champion competed for the inaugural women’s featherweight title in the UFC. While the belt was originally created for Cyborg, she wouldn’t fight for the strap until after Germaine de Randamie, who defeated Holm in controversial fashion, vacated it.

Holm was supposed to have a featherweight fight earlier this month, but was forced out of the match-up. If Harrison is UFC-bound, she’d be the perfect test for Kayla.

  1. Kavanagh, who has more losses than wins in Bellator is listed as an enticing match-up, but not Arlene Blencowe who also crossed over from another sport, fought for the title twice, trains with Holly Holm and Claressa Shields; isn’t. Funny.
