Here’s what the MMA world thought about Rob Font’s outstanding performance at UFC Vegas 27.

UFC Vegas 27 has one of those exciting main events that have you flipping back and forth on your picks all week. UFC matchmakers really wanted to spoil us this weekend when they matched Rob Font vs. Cody Garbrandt as the main event, and we thank them!

Rob Font had some magic of his own in his hands when he finished Marlon Moraes last December at UFC Fight Night: Thompson vs. Neal. With that finish, not only did Font earn a Performance of the Night bonus, but he put the entire Bantamweight Division on notice that he is no longer a dark horse but a prominent contender for UFC gold.

Cody Garbrandt was on a three-fight losing streak and had enough as his legacy will always remain in the UFC as a champion. He showed this in his last fight when he literally reached down deep and hit Raphael Assunção with a bomb that had “No Love” walk off, reminding the world of the power he has to remain at the top.

Rob Font started to get into a rhythm after a close first round, but it was Font finding his timing in round two. Font’s jab seemingly was the weapon of choice to set up the combinations. There was never any quit from Garbrandt but the night looked to belong to Rob Font as it went to the judges’ score card where Font won by Unanimous Decision.
