The final UFC PPV of 2019 has recruited Ian Heinisch and Omari Akhmedov to help fill out the card.

A middleweight pairing between Ian Heinisch and Omari Akhmedov has been added to UFC 245, as first reported by MMA Junkie. Though the UFC has yet to make an announcement or add the bout to the fight card on its own official website, the fight has popped up on on ESPN’s UFC 245 fight card, and it appears the booking is a done deal.

Heinisch (13-2) will be looking to bounce back from the first loss of his UFC tenure at the event. Last time out, the American was given a step up in competition, one that he had called for in the form of Derek Brunson. In a case of “be careful what you wish for,” Brunson controlled the fight, leading to a three-round unanimous decision.

The loss snapped a five-fight win streak for Heinisch. He had been expected to return at UFC Singapore against Brad Tavares, but withdrew from the card.

Akhmedov (19–4–1) has not lost a fight since 2016, going 4-0-1 in his last five bouts. The Russian fighter will enter UFC 245 coming off a pair of wins over Tim Boetsch and Zak Cummings.

UFC 245 takes place December 14, 2019 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, NV. The card is headlined by a trio of title fights: Amanda Nunes vs. Germaine de Randamie, Max Holloway vs. Alexander Volkanovski, and the long-awaited showdown between Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington.
