The UFC’s card at the White House this past weekend, as expected, drew a big number for streaming service Paramount+.

In an announcement made on Wednesday, the streamer revealed that 17 million users had tuned in UFC Freedom 250 at the White House, in the U.S. and Latin America alone.

That number rivals the Rousey vs. Carano card on Netflix, and it’s worth noting that Netflix has a much higher subscriber base than Paramount+. Additionally, outside of certain territories, the White House card was broadcast on other services (on Pay-Per-View in Canada, for example), meaning overall viewership was almost certainly higher.

That said, two massive cards for MMA in the span of two months is great news for the sport, and proves that when the right fighters are booked, and when promotions think outside the box, the sky is the limit.

The White House card actually suffered from a lack of name value, with the likes of Conor McGregor and Jon Jones absent. The biggest draw on the card was arguably Alex “Poatan” Pereira, who was finished by Ciryl Gane in the night’s co-main event. American Justin Gaethje defeated Ilia Topuria in the UFC Freedom 250 main event, unifying the promotion’s lightweight title in doing so.

The UFC is likely expecting another massive number next month when Conor McGregor returns from a five-year layoff to face Max Holloway at UFC 329.
