UFC CEO Dana White seems to finally be saying the quiet part out loud after saying that he doesn’t expect Conor McGregor to return to the octagon anytime soon.

“He’s not fighting anytime soon,” White told Adam Glyn.

“I haven’t talked to him in a minute. I don’t know.”

McGregor (22-6) hasn’t fought since suffering a rough leg injury in his TKO loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in 2021. Since then it’s been promise after promise and constant teasing about a return to MMA for the Irish star.

The former featherweight and lightweight champion posted to his Instagram story teasing a return once again and seemingly asking to be back in the testing pool.

Then just a couple days later White popped that bubble pretty quick.

McGregor was supposed to make his return to the octagon at UFC 303 against Michael Chandler. A broken pinky toe too him out of that fight and back into this constant ‘will he, won’t he’ that fans have been discussing.

Many fans and fellow fighters don’t believe ‘The Notorious’ will ever step into the octagon again. McGregor has made millions in fighting, building companies, and partnerships. On top of that the many out-of-the-cage incidents he’s been involved in.

Nobody, not even White, knows how this McGregor saga will continue or end. Hard to see it ending in the UFC octagon at this point, but you never know.

After all ‘The Notorious’ Conor McGregor always looks to make a splash.
