Another big Bellator star has made his exit from the PFL.

After being vocal about the company not getting him a fight, and sitting on the sidelines since May of 2024, Patchy Mix (20-1) has been released by the promotion. Professional Fighters League officials confirmed the news on social media on Tuesday, noting a mutual agreement had been reached to not renew the fighter’s contract.

Mix (properly Patrick Mix), is currently engaged to UFC women’s strawweight title challenger Tatiana Suarez, and will almost certainly be a shoo-in to land in the UFC. The 31-year old won Bellator’s bantamweight grand prix in 2023, capturing an interim title in the process. He then unified the title with a submission victory against Sergio Pettis later that year.

Following Bellator’s acquisition by the PFL, Mix has fought just once, defeating Magomed Magomedov for a second time at Bellator Champions Series 2 last May. Mix had then been booked to headline a Bellator Champions Series card in Paris last November, only for the entire event to be cancelled.

The PFL mothballed the Bellator brand at the start of 2025, switching to the PFL Champions Series instead.

“Professional Fighters League and Patchy Mix have mutually agreed to not extend his contract. We both decided this is the best course of action for PFL and him,” PFL officials wrote in a brief statement on Tuesday. “Patchy is a fantastic fighter and we wish him well. PFL is excited to crown our next 135lb champion in the PFL World Tournament.”
