Cody Garbrandt (14-6), the former UFC bantamweight champion, has booked a fight against Raoni Barcelos (19-5) at UFC Atlanta.
The Team Alpha Male fighter, who recently debuted a new look, will be looking to bounce back from a loss to ex-flyweight champ Deiveson Figueiredo last April, a setback that snapped a two-fight win streak. The bout, set for June 14 at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, will be Garbrandt’s first action in over a year.
Raoni Barcelos himself announced the news on social media on Thursday.
For Brazil’s Barcelos, the bout is his biggest assignment to date. He’s coming off a derailing of Payton Talbott, the red-hot UFC rookie, in his last outing. Barcelos has won two straight, submitting Cristian Quinonez prior to picking up a unanimous decision over Talbott.
