UFC 315 sees the Ultimate Fighting Championship touch down in Montreal for the first time in a decade this Saturday, with a pair of title fights topping the card at the Bell Centre.
The same venue once dominated by Georges St-Pierre (he defeated the likes of Matt Serra, Carlos Condit, and Nick Diaz there) provides the backdrop for Belal “Remember the Name” Muhammad to attempt his first welterweight title defense, against Australia’s Jack Della Maddalena. JDM (perhaps the three initials are a positive sign, like GSP) certainly has a title-shot worthy resume, though he was given the fight in the wake of Shavkat Rakhmonov being unable to make the date. Della Maddalena had originally been booked to headline UFC London last month against Leon Edwards, before being replaced by Sean Brady.
The night’s co-headliner finds Valentina Shevchenko also looking to make her first title defense, albeit of her second reign as women’s flyweight champion. Shevchenko is fighting someone not named Alexa Grasso for the first time after three consecutive bookings, in this case France’s Manon Fiorot.
Grasso herself is also on the card. The Mexican ex-champ and “Bullet” are an even 1-1-1 in their career series; whether she can book herself a fourth fight depends on the outcome of her bout with surging Brazilian flyweight Natalia Silva.

Moments before Jose Aldo weighed in on Friday, just shy of halfway through the one-hour weigh-in window, it was announced that Aldo vs. Zahabi had been moved from bantamweight to featherweight. Both fighters made the featherweight limit successfully, Aldo at 143, Zahabi at 142.
