The UFC‘s Pay-Per-View return to Abu Dhabi, UFC 308, has now been officially announced.

Ahead of Thursday’s UFC 300 pre-fight press conference, promotion officials revealed the date of the annual PPV in the UAE: October 26, 2024. The UFC 308 card will be held at the Etihad Arena on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, which is better known to MMA fans as “Fight Island.”

UFC 308 will be part of Abu Dhabi Showdown Week, per Thursday’s announcement. No other details were given on what exactly the week will entail. No fights were announced for the card.

Last year, the promotion held UFC 294 at the same venue, with the card topped by lightweight champ Islam Makhachev facing then-145lb kingpin Alexander Volkanovski in a rematch. Makhachev finished the Australian with a head kick to put their rivalry to bed.

Makhachev’s participation in this year’s Abu Dhabi card remains to be seen. The longtime training partner of Khabib Nurmagmomedov has been rumored to fight in June, potentially against Dustin Poirier. The winner of Arman Tsarukyan vs. Charles Oliveira at this Saturday’s UFC 300 has also been promised a title shot by the promotion, with that fight billed as a true title eliminator.

Curiously, the UFC will also be in Abu Dhabi in August for a Fight Night card also planned for the Etihad Arena. No bouts have been announced for that event to date.
