At one point Roets had a lot of hype but inactivity slowed that down. He made his return last May after about a four-year layoff and looked solid.
Roets is a multiple-time national wrestling champion and he has competed in many jiu-jitsu competitions. As an amateur Roets was an IMMAF world champion in 2016. Roets is one-dimensional leaning heavily on his wrestling. He pushes a hard pace chasing takedowns. Once he’s on the inside and on top he’s relentless. Always looking to improve positions Roets is aware of his positional grappling. When it comes to success on TUF, it depends on how much his striking has improved over time. Over the last four years, Roets only has around six minutes of fight time. No matter how he performs on the season this will be a good leaning experience for him.
