Christian Rodriguez vs. Cameron Saaiman Lands on UFC 290

A pair of bantamweight prospects will face off at UFC 290 during International Fight Week this July.

Christian Rodriguez (9-1), fresh off a win over teenage sensation Raul Rosas Jr., will face South Africa’s Cameron Saaiman (8-0) at the event, set for July 8, 2023 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

News of the booking was first reported by Eurosport, with Rodriguez confirming the match-up on social media.

A 2022 Contender Series winner and teammate of middleweight contender Dricus Du Plessis, Saaiman is 2-0 inside the octagon to date. Most recently, he picked up a majority decision victory over Mana Martinez at UFC 285.

Rodriguez for his part is 2-1 in the promotion, and will enter the fight off back-to-back wins over Rosas and Joshua Weems.
