UFC heavyweight Walt Harris will return to the cage this July.

Harris (13-10, 1NC) will face Josh Parisian (15-6) at a UFC Fight Night event on July 15, 2023. No location, venue, or broadcast plan has been announced for the card.

Cageside Press confirmed the booking with multiple sources familiar with the situation following an initial report by Eurosport on Tuesday.

Harris has not been seen in action since June 2021, when “The Big Ticket” lost via TKO against Marcin Tybura. Just over two years will have passed for Harris between fights, though he has been busy in the gym of late, and was part of Jon Jones’ training camp for his heavyweight debut back in March.

As is well known by now, Harris lost step-daughter Aniah Blanchard in 2019, after she was kidnapped and murdered by career criminal Ibraheem Yazeed, who was out on bail at the time of the killing. The tragedy led to the passing of Aniah’s Law in Alabama, which allows judges in the state to deny bail for serious but non-capital crimes including rape, human trafficking, robbery, kidnapping, child abuse, and assault, among other offenses.

Parisian has traded wins and losses since entering the UFC via Dana White’s Contender Series and is 2-3 in the promotion to date.
