UFC 280: Belal Muhammad Glad To Have Matchup Against Trash Talker Brady

Abu Dhabi, UAE – Riding one of the more impressive win streaks in the UFC welterweight division Belal Muhammad takes on Sean Brady at UFC 280 on Saturday night.

“Had a good camp. I just feel like, emotionally, it’s just another hurdle I’ve got to get over, another guy. I’ve got to prove to the doubters that I’m the best guy int he division and Saturday night I prove it,” Muhammad told the press at media day on Wednesday.

Muhammad will face Brady (15-0) who has 5-0 in the UFC including wins against Jake Matthews, Court McGee and Michael Chiesa respectively.

“I’ve been in the UFC, I’ve been undefeated before, and I know what it feels like. Obviously he probably has all the confidence in the world. He’s just coming off a big win against top 6 guys so the way that he tried to call it out, call it out on Twitter, act like he can beat me and all this other stuff that’s what motivates me more,” Muhammad said.

“When people talk trash, last three guys that I’ve fought they were all more so very nice very respectful the nicest guys in the world. Demian Maia, Wonderboy, (Vicente) Luque, so nice. So it feels good to have somebody that I don’t like. Alright you called it out, you called me out, you’re saying I’m running, trying to talk all this big game. Now all that talk you’ve got to show me now Saturday. Be careful what you wish for.”

Muhammad isn’t really one to have beef with too many fighters so at times he finds himself having to search for something to dislike about his opponent.

“I mean with a couple other guys…there’s some guys like Wonderboy I was trying to figure out someway I should hate him. There has to be something about him that I don’t like and I couldn’t find anything,” he said.

“With Sean it just comes naturally because the way he was just talking and I hate Philly. I hate Philly cheesesteaks, I hate the Eagles, I hate everything about Philadelphia,” he said with a smile.

Regardless of what is said before the fight it’s clear that Muhammad doesn’t need a lot of motivation to get pumped up for a fight against a talker like Brady.
