UFC 274’s Randy Brown: “He Was The Ox, I was The Matador,” Getting Better Each Fight

Phoenix, AZ – UFC welterweight Randy Brown came into UFC 274 with a two goals in mind. Defeat Khaos Williams and show how much he’s improved his game. He achieved both on Saturday night.

Speaking to reporters in his post-fight scrum Brown accessed his performance.

“I thought it was cool. I thought I went out there and had fun. Showed my diversity. Showed that perseverance, I’m tired of showing perseverance, but it was fun man. I went out there and did my thing,” Brown said.

Williams came into the fight looking to take Brown’s head off. He was even able to land and drop Brown, but the latter used his movement to avoid taking too much damage and came away with the win.

“Big, bad monster you know what I mean? Khaos with the power. It’s reminiscent of Ali-Frazier or Ali-Foreman type. All weekend I’ve been listening to Ali talk watching him build up to that fight. I went in there saying, you know, this ox fighter vs. the matador. He was the ox I was the matador,” Brown said.

Following the fight Brown was seen going over to where UFC president Dana White was sitting, and exchanging a few words.

“Just letting him know that I’m still here. He got me at 6-0 off of Looking For A Fight. You guys forgot about Looking For A Fight. I’m the last guy left. I was just a young kid, green as hell. I grew up in this octagon and I want to show them. I don’t just say this man. A lot of fighters just say it because it sounds good. They come up here like ‘Yeah I’m getting better every time.’ I am legit getting better every time I step out there. I’m a brand new person every time I step out there,” Brown said.

Now that he’s on a three-fight win streak Brown may have a bit of say as to who he fights next.

“I don’t really know. I’ve always had a great relationship with the UFC. I’ll just put it like that.”
