Triller Fight Club is looking to continue their shakeup of the combat sports hierarchy with a new sport called Triad Combat which will feature several MMA and boxing veterans.

Almost a year since they exploded onto the combat sports scene, Triller has announced another groundbreaking event that promises a unique show.  On Tuesday, the promotion revealed the full roster for a new sport called Triad Combat.  The sport combines rules from boxing and mixed martial arts and will feature a plethora of names familiar to UFC and casual boxing fans alike.

Per a press release:

“Triad Combat is a revolutionary, new combat team sport which incorporates boxing and MMA rules in an aggressive, fast-paced manner with the fighters competing in a specially designed triangular ring over two-minute rounds featuring professional boxers competing against professional mixed martial arts fighters. The specific motto of leveling the playing field between the two sports utilizing crossover gloves and with holding allowed is meant to offer boxing and MMA fighters an even battleground where neither opponent has a greater advantage.”

Elbows and kicks will be forbidden under the Triad Combat ruleset. More specifics can be seen in the video below.

The first event of Triad Combat will see multiple fighters who have competed on big stages in mixed martial arts and boxing.  The headliner will see former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir take on former IBF champion Kubrat Pulev.  Mir has not competed in MMA since beating Roy Nelson in October of 2019; he made his boxing debut in May against former IBF champion Steve Cunningham.  Pulev is best known as a former IBF champion who went 28-2 with his only losses coming to boxing superstars Wladimir Klitschko and Anthony Joshua.

The undercard is also littered with names that fans will recoginize: UFC and Bellator veteran Matt Mitrione will face California boxer Alejandro Flores, Former UFC and now BKFC fighter Mike Perry will face former WBC champion Sergio Bika, and Bellator veteran Derek Campos will fight Brian Vera.

The inaugural event is scheduled to take place on November 27 at the Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.
