Steve “Mean Machine” Garcia (11-4 MMA, 0-1 UFC)

Bantamweight (135lbs.): 6-2 (MMA), 1-0 (DWCS), Missed weight 1x *DWCS*

Catchweight (140lbs.): 2-0 (MMA)

Featherweight (145lbs.): 1-1 (MMA), Missed weight 1x

Lightweight (155lbs.): 0-1 (UFC)

Steve Garcia will be competing in his sophomore UFC fight at UFC Vegas 39.  Garcia is 29 years old and stands at 6’0″ with a 73″ reach.

Garcia was on the Contender Series in 2019, and even though he scored a first round finish, did not receive a UFC contract. This was because Steve weighted in at 139.5lbs. for the bantamweight bout, badly missing weight, and obviously wasn’t considered for a contract. In Garcia’s next fight with the LFA, a featherweight bout, he again missed weight coming in at 147.4lbs.

So its not exactly a surprise that once Steve finally got his shot he decided to move up in weight. Garcia lost his UFC debut against Luis Pena in his first and only fight at 155lbs. And for UFC Vegas 39 Garcia will have an interesting match-up against fellow WCC member Charlie Ontiveros.
