Jared “Nitetrain” Gooden (18-6 MMA, 1-2 UFC)

Welterweight (170lbs.): 12-3 (MMA), 1-2 (UFC), Missed weight 2x *outside of UFC*

Catchweight (180lbs.): 1-0 (MMA)

Middleweight (185lbs.): 4-1 (MMA)

Jared Gooden is a 27 year old fighter that made his UFC debut in 2020. Gooden stands at 6’0″ tall with a 77″ reach and has a very muscular build. For reference Gooden is the same height and has just an inch longer reach than the current UFC welterweight champion, Kamaru Usman.

Jared has multiple fights in the middleweight division outside of the UFC, though it likely would be a tough weight class for him to occupy while under the promotional giant. Undoubtedly Gooden has one of the most ideal bodies/physiques for the UFC’s welterweight division, if there is such a thing (as is evidenced by UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman). The question is if Gooden will be able to stay in said division as he grows older and his metabolism slows down and it becomes harder and harder to cut weight.

It’s worth noting that Gooden has used his allotted grace pound for all three of his fights thus far in the UFC. ‘Nitetrain’ is undoubtedly a fighter to keep an eye on in both the cage and on the scale.
