Jason Jackson Reflects on Daley Win, And What He Proved at Bellator 260

At Bellator 260 on Friday, Jason Jackson’s resume continued to sparkle. The latest addition: Paul Daley.

Jackson earned a three-round unanimous decision against Daley, improving his win streak to five. That streak includes Daley, Neiman Gracie, Benson Henderson, Jordan Mein, and Kiichi Kunimoto.

The win over Daley was one Jackson called “amazing, because I had so much nerves,” during the Bellator 260 post-fight press conference. “The only thing I think about was this guy knocking me out. I was like, if I don’t allow this man to know me out, I’m gonna get a win.”

The fight also allowed Jackson to show that he was not just a striker, but an all-around fighter. “That’s what I proved tonight, that I can do whatever it takes to get the job done.”

With so many solid wins under his belt, the welterweight contender went on to call this “one of the greatest feelings of all time, right now, this moment in my career.”

“Getting a legend, a guy who has over 60 fights— and as you can tell, I’ve been fighting a lot of opponents with more experience that I do,” he continued. “Over 30 fights, 40 fights, 60 fights. Just check my resume. They all had more experience than I did.”

Bellator 260 was topped by a welterweight title fight between Douglas Lima and Yaroslav Amosov. Asked who he wanted to win, Jackson replied simply “Amosov.” Perhaps for good reason. After his own win, Amosov stated that he wanted Jackson next.
