Levi Mowles
Bantamweight | 25 | Venus, Texas, US | 14-4 | Win Streak: 4 | 4 KO/TKO, 6 Submissions
Mowles has done it right on the regional scene and now is the time for the UFC to take a look at him. His losses are to Raufeon Stots, Damon Jackson, Tony Kelley, and Miles Johns. He has wins over Jimmy Flick, Adrian Yanez, Jose Johnson, and recently James Gonzalez. Just think of how successful Yanez has been lately. Mowles has fought for LFA, Legacy FC, and CFFC putting in time for various top regional promotions. Grinding since 2014, Mowles is as deserving as anyone for at least a spot on the Contender Series.
Carlos (CJ) Vergara
Flyweight | 29 | San Antonio, Texas, US | 8-2-1 | Win Streak: 4 | 5 KO/TKOs
Vergara has surprisingly flown under the radar and is one on the top flyweight prospects out of the US. Just a few weeks ago he beat two-time Contender Series veteran Jacob Silva, who Dana White liked a lot. The fight was amazing as both show a lot of heart and will power, not to mention a lot of skill. Vergara ended up winning by TKO in the third round. Vergara has finished his last four fights and has looked apart in his performance. I wouldn’t be surprised if the UFC just signed him straight out but if now the contender series is the right thing to do.
