Mike Malott
Welterweight | 29 | Sacramento, California, US — born in Halifax, NS, Canada | 6-1 | Win Streak: 2 | 3 KO/TKOs, 3 Submissions
Malott made his return to the cage last December following a three-year layoff. He fought for CFFC and in an entertaining fight he beat a solid prospect in Solomon Renfro. Malott’s sole loss is to current UFC fighter Hakeem Dawodu back in 2014 in the old WSOF days. The UFC needs new Canadians and they have done a decent job bringing Canadians onto the Contender Series. Malott does have a 100% finish rate and fits the mold for the show.
Anton Turkalj
Light-heavyweight | 24 | Göteborg, Sweden | 6-0 | Win Streak: 6 | 4 KO/TKOs, 2 Submissions
Though it would be an unexpected addition to the show, Anton Turkalj would be a smart choice to bring onto the Contender Series. Turkalj is only 24 and has six pro fights, but has proven himself in the Brave CF promotion. In his last outing, he beat Ibo Aslan who is a solid prospect and is someone that was expected to be a part of the Contender Series last Summer. Turkalj has a 100% finish rate, is very well-rounded and has that personality the UFC would go after. In my opinion, Turkalj is a must for the show.
