Phumi Nkuta
Flyweight | 25 | South Brunswick Township, New Jersey, US | 3-0 | Win Streak: 8 | 1 Submission
Nkuta is inexperienced but made some waves in his last fight becoming the CFFC flyweight champion. As an amateur, he went 5-0 and was a two-time flyweight champion. He trains out of Serra-Longo with some of the top fighters in the world. Not only does he have the fight style the UFC would like he has the personality as well. Being only 3-0 he doesn’t have to be signed off a Contender Series win as he would no doubt benefit from a development deal.
Carlos Mota
Flyweight | 25 | Rio de Janeiro, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil | 5-0 | Win Streak: 8 | 2 KO/TKOs
While fighting out of Brazil, Mota did take his last fight in the US for LFA. In that fight, he scored a highlight-reel body kick knockout in under a minute. He hasn’t fought since then and that was in 2019. Of course, the pandemic hit, slowing things down. He was supposed to fight last month for the LFA title but visa issues held that back. If Mota can get that under control I can see his fighting style earning him a spot on the Contender Series.
